As we step into a new season with our growing YWAM Niagara team, reflecting on God’s faithfulness in 2025 fills us with gratitude and expectation for what’s ahead! 2025 marked a major step forward for the vision God has given us in Niagara and the nations:
At the same time, this season has stretched us personally. Between leading ministry, discipling students, pioneering new initiatives, having YWAM babies born, and preparing for growth, we’ve felt our dependence on God more than ever. Through every challenge, He has remained faithful.
The word of the Lord to us this year is to “douse the altar”. In 1 Kings 18, Elijah calls on God to miraculously strike an altar with fire to prove He is God to the prophets of Baal and all Israel, but the catch is Elijah has soaked the altar in water! He doesn’t make it easy because he wants to see God’s glory, and God shows up. Our prayers this year are of the same spirit – God, show us your glory in our team and ministry.
In 2026, it has become evident that God is preparing something significant for Canada and this generation. Already this year, we’ve watched DTS students return from outreach and passionately share testimonies from the mission field with young adults across Southern Ontario – sparking faith and boldness because they’ve personally experienced the power of the Gospel. We’ve just begun a 3-month Bible Core Course and are seeing students encounter God through His Word and becoming equipped to share it with others. All summer we’re gathering community, speaking at missions events, and getting ready for DTS in the fall. This generation is hungry for authentic faith and purpose, and we believe God is calling us to train and send them.
